2/10: Testing Application Deadline for Adult Class for 3/6 test

2/11-14: Daiyuzenji Sesshin (Zen Retreat)   Daiyuzenji is a Zen Buddhist temple in the Rinzai lineage, located on Chicago's North Side. They are an open community from diverse backgrounds, joined together to support one another in our Zen training. The mission of Daiyuzenji is simple: to make this transformative practice available to all, and to ensure its transmission to future generations.

Sesshin is an intensive Zen retreat. Beginning very early each morning and lasting until late in the evening, the sesshin schedule includes meditation, work periods, chanting, calligraphy, and other activities. The intention of sesshin is to completely focus and unify mind and body; the schedule facilitates concentration, and forces participants to face themselves clearly without distortion or distraction. Sesshin is an opportunity to see yourself and your life more clearly...and to emerge with new insight and strength to change old patterns of thinking, doing and being.

2/15-19: Kangeiko (Winter Training Intensive) for Adult Classes   Kangeiko means “Winter Training,” and it’s a long-established exercise in traditional Japanese martial arts dojo. Often involving periods of intensive training during the coldest time of the year, it’s designed to challenge, strengthen, and purify both mind and body. Please commit to this training, 5 consecutive days, 7:15-8:45 pm.
